Why We Love This Product!

Crystal Clear!

The Grace m801 is proof that trends may come and go, but pristine sound is always in style. The m801 by Grace Design is an 8-channel studio microphone preamplifier designed for audio professionals in the music recording, film scoring, live sound, and fixed installation markets. As the successor to our world renowned model 801, the m801 represents a new standard in capabilities and performance for multi-channel microphone preamps.

Grace m801 At a Glance:
    • Better design while maintaining classic Grace sound
    • 8 Microphone ins with 16 XLR out
    • Dedicated ribbon microphone switch

Better design while maintaining classic Grace sound
The m801 preamplifier is comprised of two components; the 2U, 19" rack mount 8-channel preamplifier and an external 1U, half width linear power supply. The m801 enclosure shares the same industrial design (look and feel) as their monitoring products and the m802 8-channel, remote controlled preamplifier. While they've made some changes (fully balanced signal path and improvements in out current) that improve the dynamic range of the m801, the sound has not been altered. The sonic performance and characteristics Grace customers have come to expect from Grace Design microphone preamps is something they're careful not to mess with.

8 Microphone inputs with 16 XLR out
The m801 includes 8 balanced microphone level inputs on female XLR connectors, 8 balanced line level outs on male XLR connectors and an more 8 balanced line level outs male XLR connectors. Both sets of analog outputs (16 outputs) can be used at once. The signal path of the m801 is fully balanced from start to finish which rocks a dynamic range improvement of up to 3dB over that of the model 801. With its increased output current capability the m801 can drive audio lines that can reach upward of 1,500 feet without audio quality loss.

Dedicated ribbon microphone switch
Included on each preamplifier channel is a dedicated ribbon microphone switch, which shifts the preamplifier's entire gain range up 10dB while deactivating 48V phantom power and bypassing the coupling capacitors. This offers the proper signal strength to maximize the ribbon microphone, yet the automatic disabling of phantom power ensures that you won't accidentally fry your microphone.
