The Microphone Demosthenes Would Have Used!
Perhaps in 4th century Greece, sound reinforcement meant filling your mouth with stones and shouting at the sea to strengthen you voice, but technology has come a long way since then. These days, a Shure wireless system with a WL183 omnidirectional lavalier at your lapel will do the trick at least as well. Whether you're in theatre, the ministry, a lecturer, or just need a great mic for broadcast, the WL183 is the microphone for you. Its omnidirectional pickup pattern means that you can affix the WL183 to your lapel, tie, a barrette in yo+ur hair, whatever, and it will pick up your voice. You probably don't want to use it if you use stage monitors though, because it'll pick those up too... at that would get ugly. Just the same, the WL183 is a wonderful, low-noise lav that will make your life easier... unless, of course, you like the taste of rocks.
