The T-Fusors were a great improvement in the sound of the control room at RoughWood Recording studio. 2 tall by 3 wide panels at the first reflection points eliminated flutter echo and made the walls sound farther away. We also filled the T-Fusors with loose fiberglass and closed the back with rigid. The manufacturer describes how this helps with lower frequency absorption. On that note, we did not neglect the low frequencies either. Auralex has other products for low frequency absorption. A producer wanted more feedback from the room, so we used T-Fusors above and behind his mix position. The improvement was subtle but just what the room needed. T-Fusors diffuse the frequencies down to 800 Hz. Mixes are easier with eq and reverbs easier to dial in. Best of all, the mixes translate to other rooms and sound systems. Treat low frequencies first. This is most often neglected. Then treat flutter echo and liveliness with T-Fusors. Compare surface area and convenience of installation, etc. to other diffusion methods and T-Fusors come out ahead.
