But the software is only half of the power of Akai Professional's SynthStation system. Included with the SynthStation software is the SynthStation25, a keyboard controller with a dedicated docking port for your iPhone or iPod Touch. When you plug your iPhone r iPod Touch into the SynthStation25 low-profile 25-key controller keyboard, you instantly transform it into a full-color, large-format touchscreen display that lets you access the SynthStation's flexible synthesis engines and sequencer.

On the go? no problem! You can program sounds, sequence beats, and write entire songs with just you iPhone or iPod Touch by using the SynthStation app on its own. Tap out melodies on its on-screen 25-key keyboard, or lay out beat using its MPC-style pad display. You can get your whole set ready while you're on the bus, on break, or in between classes — then take the SynthStation25 with your gig or party and perform your creations live. When you're hooked into the SynthStation25, you also get a pitch wheel and a mod wheel, as well as octave buttons, sound-bank navigation buttons, and a set of stereo RCA and headphone outputs. And onboard USB gives you the power to use your SynthStation rig as a flexible MIDI controller or as a sound module for your favorite DAW software.
