Why We Love This Product!

Behold: the Legendary SG!

You're staring at a living piece of rock history, friend. Look at this Gibson SG Standard solidbody and you can just hear it... it's like the aural equivalent of a fast-looking sports car! Plug in this axe and you won't be disappointed. Thanks to its all-mahogany construction and set neck, the SG Standard gives you all the rich midrange and thick sustain you could ask for - plus a touch of sonic spice you'll definitely appreciate, especially when you want to make yourself heard in a loud band setting. Two amazing humbucking pickups put out plenty of power, and the top-notch hardware keeps tuning stable throughout even the heaviest sets.

Since the early '60s, we've been craving this thing. And Gibson keeps satisfying. The SG Standard is all killer, no filler - from its distinctive, aggressive double-cutaway body design to its comfy and fast neck. Whether you play rhythm or lead; clean, crunchy, or cranked; the SG Standard is ready for whatever you can dish out.

You want big tone with just the right amount of bite. Right? This is where it lives. When you plug in the SG Standard, you get that perfect blend of full, rich, and ornery. Two Gibson humbuckers (a 490R in the neck position and a 490T bridge pickup) get the job done and then some. Play an SG Standard and you're carrying the torch of rock itself!

Born in 1961, the Gibson SG is a rock legend. Seeing time in the hands of some of the world's most influential guitarists, the SG's "lean and mean" demeanor has cemented its place in the hearts of guitarists that like their tone a little on the rude side. The lightweight body was a welcome change of pace from the historically heavy Les Paul, but despite its lower weight, the SG was loaded with tone. And fast!

Don't think twice!

Music Background: Hobby guitarist
This guitar won't let you down. It's one of the few Gibsons that are quite reasonably priced, and you indeed get what you pay for. The action is shockingly low, it stays in tune forever and its weight is very balanced when playing (standing or sitting). It looks killer (which you probably already know) and sounds great for anything from clean blues to hard rock riffage. The guitar itself seems to be light to me, which helps out your shoulders after a long gig and it's sturdy as a ship! No guitar beats the SG Standard for its price. Get this, not the Les Paul Studio. You will love it!
