Why We Love This Product!

A Complete PA You Can Take Anywhere!

If you've played your share of smallish clubs or coffee shops, then you're undoubtedly aware of two things, 1) most of these places don't have much of a PA, and 2) the ones that do would typically be better off without them. But lugging around your own full-sized PA to half-sized venues is far from practical. That's what's so cool about the Fishman SA220 Solo Performance System. It's a complete 2-channel PA you can easily take with you. If you're a singer-songwriter, then this is absolutely the system for you. Sure it doesn't look big, in fact, the SA220 Solo Performance System isn't big at all - a mere 35 lbs. that you can easily carry in one hand or roll along in its custom case (included). That doesn't stop it from putting out a lot of sound though.

The way it works is that there are six 4" speakers that form a line array covering a small room easily and evenly. You've got to hear it to believe it. There's no need for a subwoofer or large low-frequency drivers, the SA220 Solo Performance System has plenty of thump as it is. There are two mic/instrument input channels - perfect for a guitar and a microphone - and a stereo line input for pre/post show music or a keyboard. The SA220 Solo Performance System also features a handy feedback fighting circuit, so you don't have to worry about where to position yourself. That means the entire SA220 Solo Performance System can easily act both as the house PA and as a monitor. All you need is your guitar, a mic, and the SA220 Solo Performance System, and you're ready to perform!

Top Notch Sound, Small Package

I'll spare you a recap of the specs and say that I'm a pro who gigs a lot (solo, small group, full band). play pop/rock and country, usually singing and playing acoustic guitar. I play electric too, so I have to bring two rigs.

I've used a lot of acoustic amps, and I believe the SA220 is the best investment in my sound I've made besides my J200. My guitar sounds like itself at full... read more [+] volume with no piezo spank or electric-ness, and I get a lot of compliments. Vox sound great too, and it's plenty loud with great spread. I use it as a monitor when I'm plugged into a big PA, and as a vox PA for lower volume band practice.

It's also pretty small and light, which is nice. I spent quite a while deciding between the SA220 and the Bose L1, and was lucky to gig with both of them before I chose. The Bose was actually pretty cool, but in the end, the Fishman sounded cleaner and won me over. You can get loud with any old PA, but if you want to sound right, I highly recommend the SA220. close [-]
