More Twang for the Buck!
If you play a square-neck resonator, then you already know that there are only a handful companies that make these fine instruments. Lots of manufacturers charge an arm and a leg for only half-way decent instruments whose resonator cones sound flat and lifeless.. and that's just not right. You know who else feels that way? Abraham Wechter. This guy's old-school, at least in the sense that he doesn't think you should have to go broke just to get an instrument that'll make you happy. Wechter's designed and built wonderful guitars for artists like John Denver, Al DiMeola, John McLaughlin, Earl Klugh, Jonas Hellborg, BB King, Rob Ickes, and thousands of us regular dudes who can't afford to take out a mortgage or skip rent just to buy a new six-string. Now he's gone and done it again, with a whole lineup of excellent resonator guitars, including the Scheerhorn Resonator Maple.True to form, Abe Wechter took the whole idea of an affordable resonator guitar and kicked it up a notch. Do you think he'd just take any old off-the-shelf resonator cone and drop that in square neck job and call it a resonator? Heck no! Wechter did what any self-respecting luthier would do, he got in touch with his long-time pal, Tim Scheerhorn (if you know resonators, you've got to know Tim Scheerhorn) and asked him about the killer guitars he makes. Well, Scheerhorn's spins his own resonator cones by hand, which gives the Scheerhorn Resonator Maple and all the rest of Wechter's resonator guitars much better sound than those off-the-shelf jobs. And Scheerhorn's unique body design is something special - both classy and great-sounding. So, naturally, Wechter took the whole design (with Scheerhorn's blessing) and ran with it. And that's what you get with the Scheerhorn Resonator Maple - a Scheerhorn designed resonator guitar built by Abraham Wechter that looks, sounds, and plays like a dream!
