The Yamaha MSD-1455 Sensitive Series maple snare drum works well for a massive range of styles and genres, giving you a big sound, incredible richness, and the kind of defined crack you need for louder combos. The 14"x5.5" MSD-1455 includes a 7mm North American maple shell. Yamaha put a lot of attention into the angle of the bearing cut (60 degrees on the top, 45 degrees on the snare side), giving this snare optimum head contact, tone, and resonance. Die-cast hoops and one-bolt lugs add consistency and reliable, accurate tuning to the MSD-1455 snare.

An all-around snare that fits your style
Yamaha developed the Sensitive Series snare drums from the totally beginning to offer drummers a drum that would excel in any musical environment. From soft jazz, pop, or rock, this drum can do it all, and do it well. The shell, based on the Maple Custom, is a 7-ply shell made of North American maple.

Precision-cut bearing edges add to the tone
The top bearing edge cut is 60 degrees for more shell-to-head contact, adding richness and body to the drum. The snare-side bearing edge cut at 45 degrees for sensitivity and articulation. The snare beds are 2.7mm deep, allowing amazing snare response at loose tension, yet a crisp sound without having to over-tighten the snares and choke the snare head.

Premium hoops and lugs make it simple to tune accurately
Sensitive Series drums are fitted with chrome Maple Custom style lugs and aluminum die-cast hoops. The small, one-bolt lugs allow the shell to vibrate, and the hoops are light for resonance and rigid for accurate tuning.
