Whirlwind's Micmute PMD gives you a license to kill (your signal). This little box serves up passive switching for controlling the on/off circumstance of a mic or balanced line signal - right on your desktop. The Micmute PMD has a finger-operated push-to-mute switch, a female XLR input and a male XLR output jack. When no signal is passing through it, the output jack mutes the input. The input signal is normally on, passing through the box. When the switch is pressed and held down, the signal is muted. The signal is reconnected as soon as the switch is released.
