Multiple Levels of Difficulty
Multiple skill levels in each of Music Lessons's interactive drills move gently from elementary exercises to college level music theory. Each drill can be done in treble, bass, alto, or a random choice of clefs.
Open-Ended Design
Because Music Lessons is open ended, skills and drills can be assigned in any order. The software is easily integrated into any existing curriculum.
Flexibility
Music Lessons works with a bunch of student abilities, learning styles and educator preferences. For example, there are several methods for entering your answers: click a key on the Music Lessons keyboard; play a key on a MIDI keyboard; click an answer on the screen; or type the answers.
Custom Drills
You can easily customize Music Lessons to fit your needs, creating drills and activities to target specific skills. For example, in the Key Signatures drill you can work on major sharp keys with up to three sharps, or on minor flat keys with up to five flats.
Ear Training
To learn music you need to hear what you're learning and learn what you're hearing. Music Lessons has Ear Training drills for intervals and for all the major and minor scales, modes, and jazz scales.
Interactivity
You get immediate feedback with on screen scores, and you can work at your own pace. If you don't know the answer, the program will show you. If you don't understand the answer, the made in Help screens clearly and completely explain every musical term and concept used in the program.
Progress Reports
Student records are saved in Progress Report files that track scores by date. Progress Reports provide a detailed record of student scores on every level of every drill. It's simple to view or print the current assignment, any assignment from the past, or the cumulative listing of scores for all drills done in the past. The cumulative score listing rocks an end of term assessment for each student. Progress Reports can be printed and saved for an unlimited number of students.
