This is the acoustic guitar Joe Satriani uses! The JSA5BK is Joe's signature acoustic, made to be extremely comfortable to play... that way it's not such a rough transition from a rip-roaring electric to a potentially bulky acoustic. To make it comfortable, Ibanez and Joe decided on a thinner jumbo-style body... you still get that huge tone, but you don't feel like you're wrapping your arms around a massive stuffed animal or something. The JSA5BK just "fits." Plus, the cool-looking cutaway gets your hands allllllll the way up into the upper frets so you can colonize that territory too.As far as tonewoods go, the Ibanez JSA5BK combines a mahogany body with a solid Engelmann spruce top... that means you've got plenty of power, but an element of warmth/sweetness too. Nice. To round things out and get you ready to plug in and perform onstage (just like Joe does all the time), the JSA5BK features a Fishman Presys pickup with an onboard tuner.
