A Better Way to Make Your Mixes Louder!
Just so you know... This product requires an iLok for authorization. We almost always have iLoks in stock, if you need one.If you've ever listened to your mix and thought "I wish this song was louder," then the Sonnox Oxford Inflator is the plug-in for you. There are tons of plug-ins that claim they will totally pump up your tracks. lots of these are bogus, many are lame, some are just sad, and none of them come remotely close to doing what the Oxford Inflator does. It's not a typical compressor/limiter exactly, nor is it really a tape or a tube emulator... though to be fair, it is kind of pathetic how, in a world of infinite possibilities some many companies just keep trying to reinvent the wheel. No, what the Sonnox Oxford Inflator does is special and unique.
The Oxford Inflator is set up pretty much like your standard limiter plug-in. There's an input volume and an output volume that determine how hard you hit the processor, and a Curve setting that acts somewhat like a threshold. With just these three controls alone, you can get anything from mild squeeze to brickwall limiting. The fourth control, labeled Effect, lets you add nonlinear saturation harmonics. Don't get "saturation" confused with "noise" - the Oxford Inflator won't muddy up your mixes. Rather, it adds that indefinable, smooth-yet-powerful kind of compression that made 2" tape glorious.
Play around with the Oxford Inflator for just a few minutes, maybe and hour, and you'll be able to make vocals pop, drums thump, and generally make your entire mix louder. In fact, lots of people who have the Sonnox Inflator in their DAW bag of tricks use it by default on every track - it's just that cool. If you've ever compared your mixes with the commercial stuff on the air or in you iPod, wondering what you could do to make your mixes huge like that, you just found the magic bullet you've been looking for.
