Classic Front End!
Mythical producer/engineer Eddie Kramer has worked with the best of the best. And we don't mean just the acts, though it's hard to beat spending studio time with Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, and Kiss. What we mean here is that Kramer's golden ear has been developed through working with the best audio toys on the planet, including the world's most sought-after mixers and outboard gear. While not all of us have had the benefit of working in the best studios with iconic artists, we can now use the sophisticated plug-in technology from Waves to get our hands on unbelievably accurate models of the totally gear Eddie trained his ears on. Meet the Spirits of a Generation plug-in series from Waves. What you're looking at right now is the HLS Channel, which re-creates the world-class Helios mixing console — the one Eddie used in historic sessions at London's Olympic Studios. In fact, when you call up the HLS Channel plug-in, you're gonna be tweaking a model of the Helios from the Rolling Stones' mobile truck — a model used on a number of classic recordings during the early '70s. Expect sweet saturation, in-the-mix presence, and a deliciously fat bass boost. You can even expect to hear this console's one-of-a-kind behavior, coloration, and one-of-a-kind preamplifier drive. If that's not enough, Waves even modeled the Helios console's VU meter, so it's got the response and look of the original.
Take the mythical Helios console for a drive in your own studio, and hear your tracks get rounded out, warmed up, and transformed into fit-in-the-mix masterpieces every time. You deserve a dose of classic HLS Channel magic.
