Gotta Get This Awesome MOTO Video Interface!
The HDX-SDI video interface is one more reason why we turn to MOTU for pro video production. You can easily capture or monitor video in most popular video software using uncompressed HD and SD and Apple ProRes formats. Take full advantage of the HDX-SDI's HDMI, HD/SD-SDI, HD/SD component, and S-video I/O, freeing yourself from the limitations of your other video toys. You also get 16 channels of pro-quality digital audio via analog, AES/EBU, and embedded formats, plus the HDX-SDI's ultra high-speed PCIe connection.Because many cameras feed their SDI, HDMI, or component video straight from their optics before introducing compression, the HDX-SDI can capture the pristine data and insure that you only get the best possible image quality - up to 10-bit color depth at 1920 x 1080 resolution! And when it comes to outs, we love the HDX-SDI's flexibility and multiple simultaneous monitoring solutions. At the same time you monitor the digital HDMI for pixel-for-pixel accuracy on a large plasma screen, you can also adjust the color by running a HD-SDI feed to an LCD reference monitor, while keeping and an eye on the final "real-world" consumer view on a television via the analog HD, SD, component, or S-video outs.
We've found the HDX-SDI also to be useful for lower data-rate editing because of its direct codec integration. The ability to load lots of codecs makes working with the Apple ProRes or ProRes HQ codec in Final Cut and Adobe Premiere Pro a snap, and opens the door to working with any other codec in most video software. So, when you work with the HDX-SDI, you can avoid extra compression and decompression stages for max CPU efficient and smooth editing.
