Why We Love This Product!

Record a Whole Band with Just One Interface!

Sometimes you just need to record a band. And a puny little audio interface isn't going to get the job done - not unless you add stuff onto it, and who has the cash to go that route? Because with the PreSonus FireStudio 2626, you're ready for full band recording... right out of the box. This is the interface for ANYONE in a band, wanting to record a band, or thinking about offering full-service recordings (whether that's in the studio or out mobile). Why is the FireStudio 2626 so cool? Let's break it down for you.

The "2626" in the name refers back to its input and output counts. Meaning, you can rock 26 inputs and 26 outputs, with just this one interface. Sorta crazy, right? That's a LOT of I/O (jargon for inputs and outputs). Right on the front, you can connect up to eight microphones, so you can professionally record everybody in the band. And you even have individual level knobs right on the front too so it's easy to set up your sound.

If you're a math wiz, though... you may be wondering how that count goes up to 26 in... and to explain that, you've got to flip around the FireStudio 2626 and take a look at the back. Via a duo of digital ADAT connectors, on the rear of the unit, you've get eight channels apiece for sixteen right there. Add that to the front eight and that's 24... then add in two more digital channels via the S/PDIF input and that's your 26. The nitty gritty doesn't really matter... because if you know you've got PLENTY of room to grow and record bigger and bigger groups. Then on the output side, you have eight outputs you can use for anything you want, with a pair of main outputs for feeding your studio monitors.

To route signals around to those eight outputs, you can use the included Control Console software. It's a DSP mixer/router, so it won't use all your computer's processing power to do the routing... very cool. With the software, you can create a custom headphone mix for everybody in the band. You'll love that. And so will they.

And then going further down the software front, you even get an ace DAW included with it. That is, you get a copy of PreSonus Studio One Artist recording and production software (sells for $199 or something by itself!!). With the software, you've got everything you need to produce your own songs. There are even effects and mastering tools built into it... this is one serios DAW.

So if you're wanting to get started recording on the right foot... or you want to make the switch from a desktop interface to a full-blown rackmount system that's ready for full-band recording... the FireStudio 2626 is the way to go.
