The strings are the best in my honest opinion. My low E string sounds thick. The .52 Gauge makes it sound more bassier as well as the A and D string too. The A string is the same gauge as a Fender low E string on Mexican Strats, so this really says alot. I tune to DAD tunning aka Drop D rarely to try out some new sounds and it holds up fine and I cant feel the string wobbling as much as it did whe... read more [+]n I used .46 or .49 gauge or intonation being out of tune as much. If you are looking for a heavy string for your bass side and can handle bends with 11 gauge treble stings this is definitely the string set for you. I clean them every time after use, with Dunlop 65 Ultraglide and they last me about 1 - 1 1/2 month before the treble strings go dead and about 2 months the bass side gets muddy and I remember they lasted me like 3 weeks before I used Dunlops Ultraglide and they would go dead. I usually change the 3 treble strings with D'Addario Singles and when they go dead then after those get filthy I change the complete set. It saves money as well. Also clean with Dunlop 65 or Fast Fret and you will easily prolong the life and get the long lasting tone from these amazing strings, but dont put Dunlop or Fast Fret before you play put it after you are done unless you playing slide guitar or slide a lot because the Dunlop 65 or Fast Fret to does drown up the tone a bit so use it after. So either drip some on your finger tips rather then on the strings before you play.
I use these on a Fender Jazzmaster and Gibson Les Paul Standard and I also use to used them on a Gibson ES-335 and a G&L Legacy until I sold them. close [-]
