What an Acoustic!
Here's one of those little bits of guitar trivia that never fails to surprise people when you spring it at them: Takamine guitars are actually named after the Takamine Mountains in Sakashita, Japan. It's at the base of these mountains that Takamine guitars have been made for over 40 years! What began as a small family business has evolved into one of the leading guitar manufacturers in the world. The company opened its doors while guitar playing was gaining popularity in Japan during the early 60's. As business grew, the owners saw the need to develop their skills and attract design and manufacturing talent. One of the most important additions to the company was Mass Hirade, who joined Takamine in 1968 and made incredible improvements to the HRDlx3BO.
