There's a New Digital Snake in Town

If you spend enough time on the road, you know that live audio can be messy. The bigger the show - the bigger the mess. A digital snake can help. Why digital? Well, freedom, for one thing. Freedom from the noise, complexity, and bulk of analog snakes. Got big shows? This snake can handle 'em.

The Aviom DS48 Digital Snake gives you hassle-free digital connectivity between stage and front of house for up to 48 mic/line inputs and 16 line-level returns. The included pair of AN-16SBR System Bridges simplify your setup, and all audio data travels over a single Cat-5e cable (up to 500') between stage and FOH. Now that's gotta simplify your life.

Each input channel on the three included AN-16/i-M Mic Input Modules contains a three-segment level meter, a continuously variable gain control, phase reverse, 48-volt phantom power, and an 85Hz rumble filter. The 16 balanced outputs on the four included AN-16/o v.4 Output Modules are supplied via DB-25 multipin connectors. Analog outputs can be set (per channel pair) to +24dBu, +18dBu, +4dBu, or mic level.

The DS48 may be used with nearly any mixer, and all signals in the system may be split as needed, simply by connecting additional output modules in the split location. So, if you've got big, messy audio, call in the big digital snake to restore law and order.
