Hit the Deck!
Club DJs, house DJs, battle DJs, turntablists, even wedding DJs, whatever - we all do our thing a bit differently, but there's a single unifying truth we all live by: if the music stops, then the party dies. No matter how well you do your thing, if your equipment can't keep up, then silence ensues and trouble follows. When you get a Pioneer Pro DJ CDJ-2000 turntable in your rig, you get two things that matter more than all of the silly bells and whistles lots of DJ gear includes, which are killer playback options and rock-solid reliability. You see, it doesn't matter what format your audio is in - MP3s, AACs, WAVs, or even AIFF files - the CDJ-2000 will play them. Put 'em on a CD, CD-R, CD-RW, thumb drive, DVD-R, USB hard drive, SD card - it doesn't matter, they'll all work with your CDJ-2000. Just think about it, that mean you can burn a high-quality DVD with over 80 CD-quality tracks on it, and still keep 7,000 MP3 files on standby in the SD card slot. Plus, the CDJ-2000 can act as a MIDI or HID controller, so you can hook it up with your favorite DJ or VJ software too.
Okay, so I lied a little - the CDJ-2000 does have some bells and whistles, but they're the kind of bells and whistles you're really gonna love. Let's start off with why you're going to want more than one CDJ-2000. The Link function lets you hook up to four CDJ-2000s together and share tracks between them effortlessly. You just hit the Link button on one CDJ-2000, and you can easily navigate through any other deck's track list. Navigation is a synch too, thanks to the CDJ-2000's 6.1" full-color screen.
The CDJ-2000 also comes with the awesome rekordbox software, which makes prepping your tracks a matter of seconds. Since we already covered the massive amount of music you can keep loaded in the CDJ-2000, you'll be glad to know about Tag Lists. Tag Lists let you store favorite tracks in customized playlists. As for performance tools, the CDJ-2000's got a jog wheel adjust knob so you can set the resistance of the deck, plus a 4-beat loop cutter for automatically setting loop points and breaking them down. And awesome ribbon controller also lets you perform needle-drop auditioning - very cool!
