Audio-Technica's AT8022 is a stereo condenser with an XY capsule configuration. It includes two cables - one with a balanced XLR out and one with an unbalanced Tip-ring-sleeve out - so the AT8022 is ready to combine into whatever system you need. Both small and lightweight, the AT8022 is ideal for video camera-mounting, interviewing, and home recording situations. It also pairs particularly well with a portable field recorder. Stereo condenser with an XY configuration
The Audio-Technica AT8022 features a stereo pair of condenser microphones that are arranged in an XY arrangement, avoiding any issues with phase cancellation. The microphone also sports a selectable 80Hz highpass filter, so you can eliminate low end rumble.
Camera-mountable and small for field recording
The AT8022 is both lightweight and small. It mounts easily onto a video camera and is also equally well suited to interviewing, field recording, and personal recording jobs.
Powered by battery or phantom power
Adding to its mobile convenience, the AT8022 can be powered by phantom power when it's available. Or, you can just as easily power it by an built-in battery. The microphone includes two cables - one with an unbalanced Tip-ring-sleeve out and one with a balanced XLR out - so you can instantly use it whichever way works best for your needs.
