There you are, sitting in front of your Ableton Live Session. You're wishing you had more control. If only you could trigger clips and scenes on the fly — without having to mess with programming a messy tabletop full of controllers. Akai Professional thought so too, so they got together with the folks at Ableton to create the awesome APC40 Ableton Live controller. You've got to have it.

Look up at the APC40's button matrix on the left, and you'll see that it's got backlit status indicators that keep you in touch with Ableton Live's Session View. So, not only can you trigger your clips, at any moment, you know which ones are loaded... playing... record-armed — all that good stuff. And you can, of course, "Bank" around your session to control more than the 40 clip-launch buttons in view on the APC40's 5x8 matrix. Of course, the APC40 is about way more than just hooking you into Live's Session View.

Look around on the APC40 and you'll notice eight faders plus a master fader. You'll see a sweet crossfader. You'll notice multiple sets of encoders (LED-ringed for even more visual feedback!), so you can get your hands on plug-in parameters, and what-have-you. Go on and use the Tap Tempo button and Tempo Nudge buttons to do what Live does best — elastic audio. You'll also dig the onboard transport controls, metronome switch, MIDI overdub function... and lots more. The APC40 is the Live user's dream machine!
