Premium Pre, with Remote Controllability!
You want eight killer channels of preamp excellence? How about eight killer channels of remote-controllable preamp excellence? Here it is! Aphex's Model 188 starts with eight totally awesome, totally pro-grade preamps. Then, it ups the bar by giving you both balanced analog and digital (ADAT) outputs. THEN, Aphex throws in remote controllability. This means you can put the Model 188 closer to the mic and run less mic cable. The result? Better sound quality! You also get to choose between using the onboard word clock or connecting to an external clock source. This pre has it all: polarity reverse, a low-cut filter, variable gain, a very cool and useful 26dB pad, and a front-panel display and rotary encoder. Very cool!
